Referrals

Cats, dogs, rabbits and more unusual pets, such as snakes and iguanas, are referred to Vale Referrals from all over the South West, Wales and the Midlands with a variety of problems ranging from heart conditions or vomiting and diarrhoea to skin complaints and eye problems.

It becomes increasingly difficult for vets to be experts in all conditions in all species which is why many other vet practices choose to refer clients to us to get the best possible treatment for their client's pets. Just as a GP will refer you to a consultant for more complicated complaints, your vet can refer you to a specialised referral practice where there is a vet who has a recognised expertise in the relevant area.

We have, in house, some of the most highly qualified vets in the country, offering expertise in:

  • Cardiology
  • Dermatology
  • Exotics
  • Internal Medicine
  • Neurology and MRI Scanning
  • Oncology (Surgical & Medical)
  • Ophthalmology
  • Soft Tissue Surgery including ENT

This is a fantastic resource which you, as a Vale Vet client benefit from, even if you don't need to see one of our experts. Our general practice vets and nurses make use of this wealth of knowledge, day after day; they continue to learn, you and your pet benefit, at no extra cost to you.

As a referral practice, we also have sophisticated diagnostic equipment, such an ultra-sound scanner, and endoscope, together with the expertise required to use it. This can save you expensive bills and trauma to your pet, as we are able to diagnose a huge range of conditions such as lumps and tumours, which most small practices would have to operate to investigate.

And, should your pet develop a more serious condition which requires a referral to one of our specialist vets, then this service comes to you, as a Vale Vet client, at a discount.
